Chicago-born artist and writer draws inspiration from nature, memory, and the human condition to tell stories through her works. Using soft washes and intentional marks, she highlights moments of tension within the overall calm and resolve of her compositions. Whalen brings over a decade of writing experience to all she creates, telling stories with abstract shapes, color, as well as words.
